the John Wozniak-produced (Marcy Playground) / Dave “Rave” [aka Jackalope] Ogilvie-mixed (NIN, Sloan) Beatbox My Heartbeat, Weekend founder, guitarist and vocalist Wasse is set on leading her Weekenders on a world takeover. Japan and Australia are already smitten, and the band recently completed a phenomenally successful tour of Indonesia, where massive audiences were overcome with appreciation for The Weekend’s sound. Says Andrea, “The name [Beatbox My Heartbeat] is borrowed from a song I wrote with my friends. The record is really just the voice of my ridiculously naive heart put to some great music. Crank it up loud and suddenly the heart has an audience, in a much less violating way than having someone read your diary. With the songs on this record being way more personal than ever before, we found that title worked really well.”
