The Hip Custom Merch Online
|
Today, at http://www.thehip.com, the band has unveiled The Tragically Hip
Digital Image Gallery, a website they created to give their fans an
opportunity to create custom merchandise from an evolving collection of
over 100 images. According to the press release, "this is the first "on demand" digital image gallery available to music fans." The high-resolution images now available at The Tragically Hip Digital Image gallery include original artwork, graphics and rare live performance photos, many of which have never been widely available before. Upon roving the site, you can personalize images with band graphics and logos or even your own words. The end result: an original work of art. Currently, posters, glossy photos, and fine art canvas can be created and in the very near future, as the gallery expands, you will be able to design t-shirts as well. Cathy Cleghorn, The Hip's official merchandise agent, notes "This is a great method for fans to order tour posters and custom album artwork. Fans have always asked for merchandise items that were manufactured two or three years ago but are no longer in stock; now they can go to the gallery and re-create the item they were looking for."
