A self-assured, maybe even cocky, slickly produced album mixing 80's influences and keyboard cheese with alt-rock writing and performance that XFM, 102.1 The Edge and their ilk are so happy to play. Take Good Charlotte, apply a dose of Lit and Marvelous 3 (remember "Freak of the Week"), an occasional Billy Idol sneer, some Green Day Marshall stacks, some David Lowery (Cracker) self-aware wit, a few Guided By Voices keyboard lines and you've got a catchy, solid record which probably translates well into a fun live show but ultimately may end up being this month's one-hit wonder.
