Home Page Openers The Wise Guys were hardly noticed before The Clash finally came on and shook the concrete walls of the hockey arena. Although the tour was to support the last Strummer/Jones album, 1982's "Combat Rock", the two-hour-plus set included material going right back to their debut album. The recent single "Rock the Casbah" and the Reggae-infused "Straight To Hell" were among the few new songs performed, the rest ranging from straight-ahead punkers like "Janie Jones", "Garageland" and "I'm So Bored With The USA" to their now-trademark cover of "I Fought The Law". Backed by a wall of televisions displaying a montage of clips, Strummer strutted around the stage holding half the microphone stand against the side of his head like an oversized radio antenna. All in all a high-energy set by "the only band that matters" and a night to be remembered.
