I finally got the New Pornographers ‘Mass Romantic’ CD and it kicked this skinny, white, civil servants sorry ass. Especially the Neko Case sung ‘Letter from an Occupant’. Lots of guitars, harmonies, retro keyboards, quirky-pop vocals, you know, Canadian. You gotta feel like a bit of a loser when the Junos beat you to the punch on an album. Oh ya, if you have trouble finding this at your local multinational culture retailer, try looking in the folk section. Mass Romantic is by no means folk but then I guess you don’t need to listen to music to sell it. Wow, my reviews sure can suck.
