I had my 1974 Mocha Walnut Fender Strat (Serial No. 573337) w/NY Mets sticker on it taken on 6/26/18 from the Ferndale, MI Library parking lot on 9 mile at approx 9pm.
The guitar has worn spot at top where it rubs against my chest, and bottom as well. I had 5 position switch installed in 1984, and switch is wrapped w/black electrical tape to keep it in 3 position. Grey padded & very worn soft case w/shoulder strap & has clip on tuner in zippered pocket.
I won this guitar at Guitar Center on Van Ness in San Francisco in 1975, and it is like losing a part of me. I am devastated and this guitar can never be replaced. I am praying everyday, putting flyers up everywhere. My car was not broken into, I left it at a parking kiosk at the Library that bass player in my band, Leslie & I were battling to accept our cash. I became so rattled and upset at this electronic robot kiosk that I lost my senses and simply left it there. Trying to stop crying and beating myself up about this, but it is so hard not to blame myself. I guess I have to consider this terrible loss of my guitar a life lesson that is God''s plan -- I am praying for my guitar to return to me, as my Martin was 44 years ago. |
