Full Details of Selected Story: Music web site BandRadio.com has dubbed Ottawa's own rockers Harrison "Band of the Year" for 1999. Their win comes close on the heels of another Ottawa victory - Punchbuggy taking top honours at the BornOnTheWWW.com competition earlier in 1999. Harrison was formed in the summer of 1996 (originally consisting of Al Richer on vocals, Danny Jensen on
guitar, Jay Cote on drums, and Pat Groulx on bass). Harrison finally had to settle for 2nd place in The Bear's (106.9) Rocksearch contest. They took the second place prize money and finished recording their debut CD, which was released in June 1999.
"All this new attention comes in the
wake of Harrison bidding adieu to
vocalist Al Richer and bringing new
guy Michael Freeman on board.
Harbinson, drummer Steph Boucher
and guitarist Danny Jensen unveiled
Freeman to the public during a sellout
show this past weekend at Zaphod
Beeblebrox 2." - Canoe.ca |
