Capital Music Conference 2000

Capital Music Conference is the premiere music industry event of Canada's national capital region. CMC brings together musicians and bands from eastern Ontario and western Quebec for a weekend of seminars, workshops and mentoring from top music industry experts.

Fifty of the region's best bands will perform Friday and Saturday night at Capital Music Showcases. The Music Industry Trade Show will feature exhibitions by recording studios, artist management companies, retail stores, industry organizations and more.

Whether you are a musician starting out, an experienced professional seeking networking opportunities, or a member of the music and entertainment industries, Capital Music Conference is an event not to be missed.

Capital Music Showcases spotlights fifty of the top bands and musicians in Ottawa's thriving music scene. The city that spawned rock diva Alanis Morissette presents the best of its new talent in two nights of festivities at multiple clubs and music venues in the downtown area.

Music industry representatives will have the chance to audition potential new signings across a wide variety of genres. Capital Music Showcases also presents a unique opportunity for the Ottawa public to see the best musical talent in the region performing together in one weekend of jam-packed, vibrant live music.

Performers based in the Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec region are eligible to apply to Capital Music Showcases 2000. To qualify, acts must reside in the geographic area defined as follows: Eastern Ontario - All parts of Ontario EAST of Highway 62, from Pembroke through Barry's Bay, Maynooth, Bancroft, Madoc, Belleville and Picton on the West and to the East to the area bordered by the United States to the East and South and Quebec to the East and North. Western Quebec - Parts of the province of Quebec extending in an arc from Highway 148 where it meets Pembroke in the West through Low in the North to Grenville in the East.
