a traditional pop band, but once we got through the boot camp, we realized we
had five women who had a lot more depth," said Allan Reid, Senior Vice
President, A&R, Universal Music Canada. "As we spent more time with the
individuals who are now Sugar Jones, the music took on a more soulful R&B/pop
sound. We've listened to over a thousand songs, we have picked 10 songs for
the debut CD, and Sugar Jones has also been writing which is a bonus we didn't
expect when we started. The girls really have had a lot to do with the musical
direction."
