"The Canadian Idol" Ryan Malcolm achieves the No. 1 Soundscan single

TORONTO, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - The Canadian Idol, Ryan Malcolm breaks yet another record, selling more singles in his first week of release than any other artist in 2003. "Something More" debuts on the Canadian Retail Singles Soundscan chart at number one, scanning 14,831 singles. Ryan was in his hometown of Kingston, Ontario on September 30, 2003, for a homecoming event staged at a local retail outlet. The event gave Ryan the opportunity to thank his fans by performing songs and signing autographs for the 6,000 plus crowd. Ryan is currently recording his debut album which is scheduled to be released December 9, 2003.
