an ultimate high in Japan, scanning more than platinum with an incredible
286,894 units sold in the first week (200,000 is platinum in that territory).
The album landed the No. 1 position in the country's sales chart, a rare
accomplishment for a non-domestic artist in Japan. The highly anticipated
Under My Skin hits stores in Canada and the rest of the world next week.
With worldwide sales surpassing a phenomenal 15 million, achieving
diamond record status (1 million) at home in Canada, Avril Lavigne's 2002
debut release, Let Go, set all eyes and ears on this Napanee, Ontario native.
Three number one singles, eight Grammy nominations, four Juno awards and a
sold out world tour has placed her amongst the most successful artists in
history.
The first single from Under My Skin, 'Don't Tell Me' went to No. 1 at
CHR. After being added as 'The Big One' to MuchMusic, the video is climbing
the chart, perched at No. 7 this week. Watch for her next week on Late Night
