Full Details of Selected Story: Brothers Tom and Chris Hooper met Kevin Kane in 1977 during their teens in Kelowna, British Columbia. They played in several bands and went on several musical paths, but in 1983 GRAPES OF WRATH was born. A live acoustic rendering of one of their songs made it into the hands of Terry McBride of Nettwerk Records (home of SARA MCLACHLAN). The rest, as they say, is history. GRAPES OF WRATH recorded 7 albums for Nettwerk/EMI and numerous singles charted on radio and music television. But, in 1992 personal differences brought about the band's demise with the departure of Kevin Kane. Last December GRAPES OF WRATH played their first Ottawa gig in six years with Kevin and Tom and Chris together as a band once again. The show was absolutely marvelous and the spirit of GRAPES OF WRATH was rekindled. Now they're coming back to entertain us once again. The Grapes will be appearing in Ottawa at Zaphod Beeblebrox 2 on Wednesday, August 4. |
